Water temps 65 and was about 4 foot high and slightly cloudy because of spring rains. They were much higher 10 to 12 feet higher just a few weeks ago. Weather was overcast both mornings, with on and off periods of rain and sprinkles. Clearing by noon with partly sunny conditions, air temps around 80.

Fish were caught everywhere and with every method. Trollers and casters both boated fish, deep and shallow. Speed and colors didn’t seem to matter that much either, they all boated fish. Crank baits seemed to be the best bet, though they were caught on just about everything. The first place team was trolling red Little Ernie crankbaits off of some main lake breaklines close to shore in the 12 to 15 foot range off of the main lake up on the north end of the lake by the dam. They caught both fish on Saturday and were in the lead after day one also. They also caught one undersized musky on Saturday at 29" and lost another on Sunday.
